It's an apron....The pockets are filled with goodies from.....Saulnierville, Nova Scotia, Canada...and not to forget the Acadian Flag is represented...
Oh! did I mention we also have to exchange our favourite summer recipe...

And that too goes in the pocket.....

Now this Towel goes to: ....Erin in Australia!

Cora's been to my house!

Another package in the mail today!..and it's from Cora, http://acraftymoment.blogspot.com/
one of my friends in the Charming Girls Quilt Club... http://cottoncharmquilts.typepad.com/charmingchatter/
it's my tea towel!
And look at the colors she choose....isn't it beautiful!
I say no no "Jay" you cannot dry the dishes with this one... it's a keepsake!
I am certain Cora has been in my house before....... to pick these colors she had to know the colors in my décor because it matches p e r f e c t l y Oh! and the recipe.... "Key Lime Pie" it has a very southern ring to it which will certainly remind me of my friend every time I make it .
Cora embroidered a beautiful stitch on each side of the recipe card..sooo her!Thank you!

Merci beaucoup, Cora!

The best therapy......

I have shared with you all summer the various events taking place in our family and in my community.... well they are all over with.. and it is back to work, back to a schedule and back to a routine. (don't get me wrong, I do like all of this and I constantly count my -blessings-) but a part of me was feeling nostalgic for the good times and the excitement that is now past. Well............
my friend Kelly from Cotton Charm Quilt Shoppe treated this and if there is an award to be won for the best therapist ...she gets it! I had mail today~!
I love ♥♥♥ mail , e-mail, voice mail and mostly Canada Post mail.......

And when I can connect with friends it makes it very special mail and to open a package from a friend who is thinking of me and that package contains????....yes Fabric......
The new line from Brannock and Patek.. "BLessings"! OMG, check it out at the Little Shoppe.. it is just b e a u t i f u l.
I haven't decided what I will make in the "Blessings" yet but it will be with my friend, Kelly, in mind.
I have to say my blues are all gone.... no time to be down, there's a quilt to be made!

My next project

August is almost finished and things are quieting down at the Tufts household. I am back to work, so sewing is on schedule again in the mornings and some lap work in the evening. I am frantically trying to decide which projects I am going to attempt next and so the books are all out .
And there are more on the shelf... the problem is every book I open I see a project I want to make...decisions, decisions..... I am running out of book marks....
Maybe if I choose the fabric first then the pattern?
Pre-cuts are great! oooh...and there is even time for reading ...love Wanda Brunstetter's books......
Well, the decision is made.... here is my next project!
The Orange Peel Quilt
This book is also a great read.. inspired by Adelia's diary

August 23rd 1969

A beautiful day ... the event.....our wedding
Lots happen in 40 years..... but the highlights...
We were blessed with three wonderful children..

First daughter Yvelle married Timmy on August 2nd 2001

Second daughter, Liette married David on August 5th 2006And our son Adrien married Monique on August 8th 2009
The Tufts' weddings all took place in August....

Just when you think all the blessings have been passed around, you get more...four beautiful grand-daughters.
Amy, Laurène, Ariane et Émilie...so precious!

August 23 2009

To celebrate.....a cook out... on the menu lobster And the desserts...with an "S"..Hard to believe it is 40 years! well....maybe the white hair gives it away! Double celebration...Our son-in-law David is 39 today!
"Bill" did not dampen the celebrations.... Hurricane "Bill", that is, was not too agressive when it came around South West Nova Scotia...

so the day was most enjoyable with the family!
